Updates to Services in The Vale of Glamorgan Plus: Activities and Links

We hope to unlock the volunteering potential of the Vale and help residents and community groups to support each other during what will be a very difficult time.

If you are in need of support, or wish to volunteer to help others in your community, you can search the database of voluntary groups on this page and use the details provided to get in touch. If you are a business providing services that could support residents in our community, please let us know.

To make it as easy as possible for you to become a hero we've listed which of the groups are currently looking for volunteers. You can register an interest in volunteering by getting in touch using the contact details provided below.

Hafod Extra Care Golau Caredig Barry 19.March 2020

We have limited some of our face-to-face services but we are generally still available.

Our drop-in services at Golau Caredig are suspended temporarily to protect our clients. However, our Support Workers are still out and about visiting clients should we be needed or if clients are in crisis. We will obviously try and ensure contact is maintained by phone as a minimum.

Events have been cancelled in Golau Caredig, again just to limit unnecessary contact and ensure everyones safety.

  • As Goldies Cymru have had to cancel their singing sessions they have now decided that every week they will have either a pre-recorded Mini sing along session or a LIVE sing along session. It is hope that people will join in with us, send in requests, comment and share posts and videos to help keep the Goldies Cymru and wider community feel connected at this time. The sing along session will be on the group Facebook Page ‘Goldies Cymru’ - https://www.facebook.com/goldiescymru . For more information please see their website  https://www.goldiescymru.org.uk/  or contact the programme leaders Programme Leader- Rachel Parry 07796 714816 Email: rachel@goldiescymru.org.uk
